The Mission Statement of this team is "to promote awareness for the needs and programs of institutions; supported by the Church locally, nationally and around the world."
There are currently eleven active members that participate in monthly meetings, at which time we discuss information received via mail or word-of-mouth which describes financial needs of individuals and organizations. We work within a budget supplied by the church, and disperse funds according to what we feel is the greatest need at the time.
We have several phases to our team which include Food for Friends, wherein we oversee the gathering of foodstuffs for the Friendly Kitchen in Dunkirk; Helping Hands, wherein a team o committed men with excellent repair skills do home repairs; Mission Teams, which journey to other parts of the U.S. to work and repair damage in homes caused by natural disasters and Greater Gifts a "store" in which goods made in third world countries are sold several times a year, the profits from which are used to send children to Royal Family Kids Camp in the summer.
We welcome new members to our team. We usually meet the second Tuesday of the month at 4 PM in the DeLand room of the church.
