I was ordained an elder in what was then the Methodist Church in 1945, prior to entering the US Army. After two years as an Army chaplain, I served the Methodist Church in many capacities, both as pastor and in administration. It was my special privilege to serve the Fredonia United Methodist Church in a variety of ways---as Senior pastor, as District Superintendent, as an interim pastor and as Pastor Emeritus. God was gracious in opening a door into the ministry for me when I was 19 years old. Now that I am well into my 90's, I look back, knowing He has been my Guide through all the intervening years, and I know you too, as individuals and as a congregation, have been led by God's redeeming grace and love.
