Church Organist/Pianist

Nick Weiser

Nick has worked as a church musician for more than twenty years, having started in a Methodist church in small-town western Kansas. He remained active as a church musician and music director during his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Kansas and the Eastman School of Music, before moving to Connecticut to take a position at The Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James, a jazz church in downtown New Haven. As Director of Music and Art at St. Paul and St. James, Nick regularly composed and arranged liturgical music for worship services and was involved in a number of innovative worship projects, including a Palm Sunday Second-Line Parade through downtown New Haven. In 2014, he moved to Ithaca, New York, where he taught at Ithaca College and Cornell University, and found his way back to the Methodist Church as Music Director of St. Paul's UMC, where he implemented many of the creative ideas for worship he had refined in New Haven. In 2017, Nick moved to Dunkirk to take a position as Head of Jazz Studies at SUNY Fredonia.
